Well Hello there!

How are you out there?
I hope you all are good.... staying warm & cozy where ever you are. I have been off the computer most of the time so I thought I would share what has been going on.. Life is good but hectic.. trying to keep retail afloat, raising two amazing teenagers, running a household, figuring out what the heck I am doing with my life, what I want to be when I grow up ( just kidding) feeling lonely at times, grateful for having beautiful friends & family in my life, so here are some of my thoughts, pictures of what's ahead, events this week and just a quick hello to let you know exciting things are happening.. website is coming along new blog too and you? Remember my Christmas window well I changed the hanging ornaments to hearts for Valentine's Day... I am now washing it all off and completely changing my look. Change is in the air.

Our Magical & original Mermaids Girls made exclusively FOR VERBENA.. (Thanks to Ms. Jen the Gem) have arrived more beautiful then ever I thought by adding a heart would give it that heartfelt touch to generate some sales and to try to do something to help Haiti... in my own small way I will send a percentage of all my Valentine Items proceeds to the Haiti Relief Red Cross... it is a start to a very very difficult road ahead.

O.K. so I am posting Rachael Ashwells sofa's why well after having it SNOW IN FLORIDA that's right it snowed here & my palm trees were covered with snow..my garden is gone so sad...Deal with it you say..I know where you live the temps are freezing almost every day & the snow doesn't stop... but remember when your blood thins & we have all this moisture down here this cold weather just sends big chills right through your bones .. ...all I can do is stay warm & cozy on my couch with Ellie ( my doggie) by my side... in the mean time I would love to cozy up on one of these sofas. LOVE LOVE This sofa I think this is my dream sofa at this time I love the way Rachel covered the cushion in velvet ( shown in her new book) I am into mixing the rugged/ rustic with the dreamy Shabby style....

Better Yet I think Adam would have loved it... maybe Eve would not have eaten that apple...she would be too busy sporting her new Fig leaf scarf???? Oh It's late & my humor is getting rusty..though I would post & show you my Fab scarf my sweet friend Mary made for me for Christmas... felted & made out of old sweaters purchased from Good Will & hand stitched... and yes it is coming in handy down here in the Sunshine state as temps are icy cold.....anyway... this is what I love about blogging expressing your thoughts, sharing & just having some fun...... xooxo Laura

Sweet Dreams for the New Year!!!!

Back home from a beautiful trip visiting Family & friends in NY & NJ....I want to wish all my blogging buddies a New year Filled with only all good things, good health, love, peace, less stress, compassion, abundance, inspiration and lots of faith.... I feel this is the year we will need it most. This trip I was too busy having fun & didn't take too many pictures so I am posting some windows of inspiration, stops downtown NYC...remember...focus this year on what's really important. Now this is Something to Blog about!!!! Believe!!!!

O.K. there are two parts to this story how do I explain something like this.. Right now I am full of so much excitement & joy I can not up load this fast enough... O.K. I will start my story.. & am sorry I never write this much but you MUST READ THIS..yesterday while working in the store I was behind my counter bending looking for something when all of a sudden when I got up a mysterious looking man was standing right in front of me he startled me.. at first I though he was homeless ( sorry if he ever reads this) he looked like a cross between A hippy from Woodstock & Santa Clause.. I said can I help you he said I am the Spoon Man where is the waif that use to work here not me I have been here for several years then he pulled out piles of handmade vintage spoons he makes into bracelets... oh my heart was beating they are beautiful perfect for my store I was thinking.. as we started to talk it turns out he is from the Midwest travels around with his wife in a bus and just sell these spoon bracelets.. He said he has been making them for Thirty years that all he does.. o.k. I can go on & on I bought a bunch for the shop thinking I could do some fun embellishments to them for my customers... One of the things I though I would love especially for was to add a watch... I do not have one & I thought it is Time for me to wear one.. the man left and that was that..anyway park that thought.. Today when I got home from the store a box was waiting on my porch...mmm I thought what is this from who.. it was from Dawn Marie.. someone I connected with on Facebook, never met face to face but am beyond honored to have connected with her...why well you tell me..not only did she make me the most incredible gifts.. I never expected any of these & was shocked when I opened up the box. scroll down to see what she did but the last gift I opened up was guess what???? The spoon bracelet with a watch on it.. better yet it was from the same man who came into my shop here in Florida I know they are his because he has special closures that only he does & when I put Two & two together Dawn Marie lives in the same State as he...Minnesota ... Now what do you think of that!!!! Please go visit Dawn Marie (artifacts & whimsy blogspot) for me send out some love to someone special... she is am Angel On Earth.. A REAL One.. This is what she did.. How do you give back to someone like her???
